Did He Say “Kikeman”?

Batman: The Brave and the Bold is now set to premiere on November 14 on Cartoon Network. The show will adapt the popular comic book series in which Batman teams up with B-list superheroes such as Aquaman, Green Arrow, and Blue Beetle.

My most recent run-in with an animated Batman series wasn’t exactly pleasant . The Batman ruined–and seemed to take pleasure in ruining–everything that past comic book writers did to make the Dark Knight as batastic as they could while steering away from the ’60s TV show. And so, one may share in my bleak hopes of the latest series actually representing the Holy One, Blessed Be He as the dark, brooding character we all know and love. Still, as the Caped Crusader often reminds us, we’re all capable of redemption, even Warner Brothers. The animation looks smooth and clean and I’m actually kind of excited to see the new post-post-Crisis Blue Beetle in action. Still. . . The Batman. . .
Despite what it may sound like, the Dark Knight’s first words in this trailer are “Jig’s up, Kiteman”–not Kikeman–meaning my future prospective supervillain name is still safe. For your perusal:
