I. Am. Robin!

Big news, bat-fans.  The WB, by which I mean the CW, is preparing a new series based on Dick Grayson , AKA The Boy Wonder, AKA Nightwing, AKA Robin.  Imagine Smallville, but with Batman.  Now take Batman out and put in his punier, less-interesting, rarely-valued sidekick.

The series, tentatively-titled “The Graysons,” focuses on little Dick’s adventures with his family of trapeze artists in the modern day.  This is before they’re brutally killed and Dick (or “DJ”) is made a ward of millionaire/philanthropist/crime fighter Bruce Wayne.  Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson of Smallville fame are set to produce (good news) along with McG (bad news).

Who is McG ?  McG is someone you may remember from such films as Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and shows such as Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious.  McG is Uwe Boll with a stupid name.  If you don’t hate him yet, here’s a picture of him:

(insert disdainful emoticon)

But this is still good news.  It shows that the CW is willing to take a more active role with their DC Comics properties, and with the Caped Crusader specifically.  If The Graysons becomes a success, we could actually see a series involving a young Bruce Wayne (which Miles Millar and Al Gough initially proposed before Smallville ).

But I’m getting too far ahead of myself.  Let’s focus on Robin — who should play the part?  I feel a new poll coming. . .

Batman would share this. . .

I haven’t a clue who would make a good Robin but if the folks from Smallville have a hand in it, it should rock :) Excellent news!
