Marvelous Week

Published by bill_finger at 10:48 am under Uncategorized Edit This

The theme of the week is Marvel.  They’re doing a lot of new stuff lately (especially compared to DC) and it only seems fair to give them the same respect as, say, Megan Fox.

First up is Wolverine and the X-Men.  This show somehow slipped past my radar and is set to air January 23rd on Nickelodeon (though somehow Canada’s been watching it since September).

The animation looks only slightly better than X-Men: Evolution, but the story does seem to be a lot more mature (you probably won’t be seeing Cyclops and Jean Grey gossiping about next week’s pep rally).  Also, Steve Blum — who you know from Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Big O, and every other anime that stole your social life during high school — is set to provide the voice of Logan himself.

The story involves Professor Xavier and Jean Grey disappearing from the face of the earth as the public grows more fearful of the perceived mutant threat.  With his gal pal missing, Cyclops can’t keep his eye on the prize, so it’s up to Wolverine to lead the X-Men (this time consisting of Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, Iceman, Angel, Beast, Shadowcat, and Emma Frost) against the opposing forces of Sentinels, Magneto, Mojo, and even the Hulk.

It all sounds pretty X-cellent to me.

Batman would share this. . .
