What Would Batman Do?

And now something for the ladies.  We’ve explored the heterosexual relationships of Gotham City (and China) from almost every angle, but now it’s time to mark the birthday of America’s gayest president, Abraham Lincoln, with a homage to the most alluded to homosexual relationship of all time.

Batman and Robin have captivated our imaginations for decades, filling our minds with fantasies that truly put the D-I-C in “Dynamic Duo.”  Without the homoerotic overtones of these caped crusaders, they would be nothing but the “Ynamc Uo.”

The following pictures (I’ll post only the SFW ones) are from Mark Chamberlain, a New York artist who caused DC Comics to send a cease-and-desist order to one of Chamberlain’s art dealers.  The art dealer replied with a justified “suck my balls,” a fitting paraphrase considering many of Chamberlain’s works involve ballsucking.

These watercolors — besides fulfilling the dreams of every middle school-aged yaoi fangirl — reveal a sensitive and loving face of a symbol that criminals associate with nothing but fear.  This is Batman Porn Week at WWBD, but I’m more prone to classify these images as art.

And so without further adieu, enjoy some great gay Batman art, or as I like to call it, in honor of Heath Ledger’s fantastic performance in The Dark Knight, “Brokeback Cave.”
