Warner Bros. Goes Green

Published by bill_finger at 9:10 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

In brightest day, in darkest night, an animated Green Lantern movie is within sight.  Let those who worshiped Wonder Woman and Gotham Knight’s might behold the power of. . . Green Lantern: First Flight !  (I assure you, it’s incredibly funny if you’re a Green Lantern fanboy)

This is fantastic news.  Green Lantern is in my top five superheroes list (can you guess who’s number one?), and it’s about time GL fans got the animated movie they deserved.  First Flight is set to be released July 28th and will chronicle the journey of Hal Jordan — everyone’s favorite emerald ring bearer and STFU if you disagree — as he learns the basics of intergalactic crime fighting alongside corps veteran Sinestro.  And nothing could go wrong when your mentor’s name is “Sinestro,” right?

The interview I watched with the directors (one more reason why you need the two-disc special edition of Wonder Woman) has put my mind at ease that Warner Brothers knows what they’re doing.  They explained the story would progress much like a cop drama since the Green Lantern Corps is basically a universal police force.  Hopefully the whole backstory as to how he got the ring won’t go too deep since Justice League: The New Frontier was pretty much just an origin movie for Hal Jordan.

Stay green, friends.

Batman would share this. . .
